He Knows My Name
As a child, my mother sang a song based on Psalm 139:13 - "You knit me together in my mother's womb." The entire chapter talks about the Lord knowing our inmost thoughts even before we were born.
In a discussion in a criminal justice class, a classmate and friend brought up fingerprints and crime scenes. He talked about how each has a different pattern, not one the same. Every person on the planet has a unique set of prints that no other person can have, even an identical twin.
It got me thinking about snowflakes and how each little flake is different than the rest. Can you imagine how many different snowflakes there are? The number is astronomical!
Even the stars are important enough to be named. Psalms 147::4 says "He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name" and Isaiah 40:26 "Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing."
What amazes me most is that our Father in heaven takes those tiny little details in mind. That being said, I thought about my problems and the problems of countless humans. How dare we think for even a second that God does not care?
Matthew 10:29 says "are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care."
He knows my name, he knows my every thought. He sees me when I fall and hears me when I call."
